Daily Painting 897 Water lilies at White City Park
Its 4 x 6 miniature oil painting. I had a heck of a time with this one, I tweaked it about 3 times. This is not one of those paintings that almost paint itself. For some reason it was a total battle. The front two flowers, used to be one flower. I scraped most of it off and put new petals on it. Still wasn't happy, so I turned it upside down, it sort of looked almost like two flowers so I brought out the second lily with some careful shading and highlights. I am happy with it, how do you all like it?

Daily Painting 884 SOLD Breezy Day at Little Jim's Miniature Oil Painting
SOLD I have been wanting to paint this for awhile, took the photo a few months back. I decided to do it really loose, mix my paints and then put a stroke down and leave it, I wanted it to look fresh and crisp. I had a good time with it, usually I stress over buildings. I think this is a good way for me to do them now. 4 x 6 inches, oil, Monday, July 13, 2009

Daily Painting 882 Feeding the Pelicans Work in Progress 2
Its coming along slowly, I still have some work to do on it. I had to stop at kind of an annoying spot, very close to being finished. There are three bird's heads coming close together and I wanted to be fresh when I did it so I didn't get mixed up with who's head belonged to which body and be able to make it all show correctly in the finished painting. Not for sale at this time.

Daily Painting 881 Feeding the Pelicans Work in Progress
Its 8 x 10 and I couldn't finish it all in one day, here is the start of it. I do the background of my paintings first, working from the top down. Next I will paint the fish cleaning station and then the men and finally the pelicans. Then I will probably tweak things a bit. Its not for sale at this time.

Daily Painting 869 After the Rains
Its sort of a plein air, I wasn't outside but this is the view of my overgrown garden from the studio window. We had some rains last week and everything got growing. It was 100 degrees today so I don't know how much longer its going to be this lush looking unless we get more rain. Its oil, 5 x 7 I mostly used a painting knife so it has lots of texture.
