1823 Path by the Old Tree Plein Air

I painted this yesterday with my group, Plein Air Painters of the Treasure Coast. It was perfect out, nice breeze and not too hot. I had been a little worried about rain but it was fine. This is right when you drive into Becker Preserve. I have been wanting to paint this scene for ages, it is usually too bright with no shade for me. The sun stayed behind the trees till I was almost through with the painting. Painting is 8 x 10 inches, oil paint on masonite.

1805 Secret Pond in the Woods plein air alla prima

I painted this out at the little pond at George LeStrange preserve. Lots of fun painting with everyone, started out like it looks here and then at 11:30 the skies opened up, thunder and lightening. Luckily there is a little shelter so we stayed pretty dry. When it eased up we went back to the car, I was walking faster than I have in years! Was scared of the lightening.

8 x 10, oil on masonite.

1794 Morning at JayCee Park, Plein Air

I painted this at JayCee park Thursday, it was nice out, started out a bit chilly but it got perfect real fast. Its 8 x 10 inches oil on Masonite. I tweaked it a little bit at home, I had some hanging palm fronds in the palm tree that just looked weird and I added the sea gulls. They were there and were hoping for hand outs. The little blue heron was there as well, he was pretty tame.

1789 Blue Heron Flyby Plein Air Original Oil Painting

Finally did some painting today with my group, the Plein Air Painters of the Treasure Coast! We had a lot of fun catching up, the weather is finally cool enough to paint in. It was getting pretty warm by noon and the light and shadows changed a lot.
This is how it looked in the morning, by noon it was cloudy and we had a few nice sprinkles of rain. Nice breeze from the east and I saw the blue heron flying past just where he is in the painting. So I am naming it "Blue Heron Flyby"
This is at the Savannas Recreational area off Midway road in Ft. Pierce. Its 8 x 10 inches, oil on Masonite.
