I painted this yesterday with my group, Plein Air Painters of the Treasure Coast. It was perfect out, nice breeze and not too hot. I had been a little worried about rain but it was fine. This is right when you drive into Becker Preserve. I have been wanting to paint this scene for ages, it is usually too bright with no shade for me. The sun stayed behind the trees till I was almost through with the painting. Painting is 8 x 10 inches, oil paint on masonite.
Florida Plein Air oil paintings, stormy landscapes, hurricanes, travel.

1632 SOLD Silk Floss Tree at the Causeway Plein Air Alla Prima
SOLD Went painting here today with an old friend, we had lots of fun catching up! Weather was funny, I thought we were going to get rained out, it was totally cloudy and drizzly when I left home. Then it cleared up nice and the sun came out. It started getting cloudy with misty rain and wind and we decided to pack up. I did some heavy editing of the scene, left out building, fence and lots of bushes and palm trees. The painting is 8 x 10 inches, oil on masonite.
