1791 Beautiful Day in the Savannas Oil Painting

Finally posting something recent for a change! This is from Thursday's paintout in the Savannas Recreational Area here in Ft. Pierce off Midway Road.

It was a disaster of an October, my husband ended up in the hospital with congestive heart failure, he is home now and seems to be doing well. I got a bug and had to go to the doctors, the stress sent my blood pressure up and the medications did not agree with me. First caused heart palpitations and next made me so dizzy I fell down a couple of times. All is well now with me, blood pressure is down to a low normal on no meds.

Then our toilet stops flushing! Septic tank filter was clogged. Great timing!
So I finally go painting, this is mostly from life but I had to tweak it some at home, I was a bit rusty!  Its 8 x 10 inches, oil on Masonite, lots of textures, its almost all painting knife.

1682 Gumbo Limbo Bay

I did this one just for fun, when I have leftover paint I spread it out on a blank panel.  I put it aside and then pick it up when its dry and see what I see in it.  I could see the tree and then the background ones.

I like gumbo limbos, they are also called tourist trees.  They have thin bark that turns red and peels.

Its 5 x 7 inches oil on masonite.

Daily Painting 1454 SOLD Golden Guavas Alla Prima

SOLD  I painted these from life, they are from my guava tree in the back yard.  The thing has gone crazy this year with the wet summer we have had, it has dozens of guavas.  I am the only one in my family who likes them, I have about gotten to my point of saturation.  I have been eating fresh off the tree, I made guava bread, guava smoothie, guava cobbler, and gave a bunch away.  I figure next I'll try freezing some.

The painting is all done with the painting knife and is oil, 8 x 10 inches on masonite.

A nice comment I received:
"Oh look at the gorgeous greens!! I am thinking that the guava cobbler and ... one of the other things you mentioned (can't remember and post isn't above the comment box for me to see) sounds delicious!! I love the almost tropical feel of this piece without going too far with it. Definitely Floridian!"
