Daily Painting 1466 Old Country Homestead
Its oil on masonite 5 x 7 inches. Lots of texture, I mostly used a painting knife. To purchase, just click the Paypal button below.
A nice comment I received on this painting:
" Now this has to be one of the finest places to live I've seen in Florida! Look at that gorgeous field, and if I'm not mistaken, close to water too! Perfection. Makes me want to paint and fix up the homestead. A most lovely piece and I immediately loved the texture you've added."

Daily Painting 1465 Paradise Found alla prima
I had some paint left over on my palette from another painting and hated to throw them away so I made a soft background on a blank panel. It has sat for awhile and I took it out every so often to see if I would get some inspiration. I could see some palm trees wanting to come out of the mist so I brought them out, saw some more plants and here it is. I hardly used my painting knife at all, there is very little texture in this one.
Its oil on masonite, 8 x 10 inches. To purchase, just click the Paypal button below.

Daily Painting 1463 Approaching Storm
I went out to paint when the edge of Sandy was going by, it was just windy. Had a nice walk on the beach too.
I like to start off with a fast sketch before I do the painting to warm up and catch any compositional problems. The wind was blowing strong and it looked like rain so I parked under a pavilion at Fredrick Douglas park on the beach. I got my sketch finished and the rain started coming down, well not down really more like across, it was blowing pretty horizontal. Got soaked on the way to the car which was about 20 feet away.
Last night I pulled out my sketch and made the painting below from it, its 8 x 10 inches, oil on masonite. To purchase, just click the Paypal button below.

Painting at the Old Fort Park SOLD Plein Air Alla Prima
SOLD I went painting today. Went to the Old Fort Park in Ft. Pierce to paint, it was beautiful out. The painting below wasn't done today though, it was done back in May, there was the annual Souvenirs of Downtown paintout and for some reason I never got around to posting this painting. I think I did the painting and was tired out, dropped it off at the show and that was that.
I wanted to post it because the palm tree was blown down in Sandy. My painting shows it still standing and then I took a photo of it today. It is still alive and may survive, I know they sometimes do.
Update at October 19th,2014, the big palm is no more, I checked out the park on a scouting trip for places to paint. They are doing some work there, put in a new pipe and there is a big track hoe down on the bank there. I am hoping to paint there later this season, they have been doing lots of work there.
The painting is 12 x 16 inches, oil on masonite.
