Daily Painting 1375 In for the Day Blue sailboat plein air alla prima
I did this today by the marina in Fort Pierce, changed the background to a more natural area instead of the parking lot and cars and other boats, buildings, etc. It was a beautiful day, had lots of nice company, other artists and nice people who liked my painting. (even when it was a lot of blobs) Saw a family of manatees and a few pods of dolphins. The painting is 5 x 7 inches, oil on masonite,

Daily Painting 1374 Manatee Center, Fort Pierce, Plein Air Alla Prima
I painted this today looking towards the Manatee Center here in Ft. Pierce, it was perfect out and I had lots of good company. Even saw three manatees!
Had a some people stand right in front of what I was trying to paint, I wonder how other artists deal with that, I thought what I should have said was, "If you all don't move I will paint you into the picture!"
Its 8 x 10, oil on masonite,

Daily Painting 1373 Twilight Bay
The painting is oil on masonite, 8 x 10 inches. This got started a few weeks ago, I had some leftover paint on my palette and rather than throw it away I put it on a blank panel. I started doing some negative painting, that is removing paint here and there and watching out for shapes. I let it all dry and came back to it today, finished it up.

Daily Painting 1371 Royal Terns at Pepper Park
The painting is 5 x 7 inches, oil on masonite. This was painted from a photo my son took. I had a time identifying the terns, thought they were gulls at first and finally found some good information on them. These have the winter plumage, they look different at other times of the year so that made it harder for me to tell what they were.

Daily Painting 1370 SOLD Hibiscus Aglow
SOLD I have some of these small stretched canvases, they are 6 x 8 inches and came in nice gold colored frames. This is one of them I had put some left over paint on to get rid of the stark white canvas. When I am out of ideas sometimes I can see things in the paint and in this one I saw the hibiscus so here it is.
There are some little flecks of colors in the leaves, I was holding the canvas up to get a good view and it slipped out of my fingers and fell wet side down onto my palette full of paint. I picked it carefully straight up and saw the dots of paint. I liked how they looked for the most part, I got rid of a few I didn't like and added a few more.
The painting is available framed for $125. You can contact me if you would like it without the frame.

Daily Painting 1369 Pepper Park Century Plants
I did this from a photo I took at Pepper Park here in Fort Pierce. There is a whole grove of the century plants in bloom there, its at the north end of the park on the beach side. I love how they look, like giant sculptures. A few years ago I was able to get on ground there and paint but now lots of plants have grown up and I can just see it from the dune crosswalk.
The painting has lots of nice textures, is 5 x 7 inches, oil on masonite,

Daily Painting 1368 Pepper Park Lane Plein Air Alla Prima
I did this at Pepper Park here in Fort Pierce. I took some artistic liberties, made the asphalt into a dirt road. Other than that its pretty close to what is there. If you look into the distance you can see you can take a left, that will lead you out of the park and if you take a right you get to where you can go walk on some nice docks. Its 8 x 10 inches, oil on masonite.
