I did this a couple of months ago, I forgot to post it, it was really busy then. I did it as a demo at Heathcote Botanical Gardens, its 12 x 16, oil, plein air alla prima.

Very colorful. I wonder how you get the figures with a palette knife.
I carve a hole in the wet paint for them first. I use this fairly new tool, colour shaper, it has a soft tip. It works on panels but not so well on canvas.
Then you plan how the figure will look but they are mainly a smear of paint for the back, one for the behind, little dot for the head and then a few streaks for the rest of them. They aren't very detailed.
