Lucky Leaves



Plein air from my back yard, its 8 x 10 oil all knife. Lucky leaves are a cool plant with flower buds filled with air. You can pop them between your fingers, lots of fun for children. The scientific name is kalanchoe pinnata.

Ready and Waiting

I painted this on Jungle Trail in Wabasso this tuesday. I took some liberties with the boat, the boat that was there was a modern sailboat that didn't look good in the painting so I scraped it off and put this one in.

New Boom


I painted this from a photo I took right after hurricane Wilma. They are taking a new boom out to their sailboat. Its oil, all knife, no brush. Its only 8x 10 inches. I think I am about to cut loose and do something big, this took three days to paint.

Sandflies at North Beach


Not the best day for a painting, I about got carried away by the sandflies, they didn't mind two different bug repellents! Its at the inlet to the ocean at North Beach Inlet State Park.
After finishing the painting, it began to rain as I walked to the car. Its 8 x 10, oil, all knife, click to make bigger if you look close you can see three sandflies stuck in the paint in the sky.

Stormy day in Vero



Very windy and rainy day at McWilliam park in Vero. There I am painting in front of the car so I could finish inside the jeep if I had too. I was able to finish the painting before it started to pour again, its a little 5 x 7 inch one. You can click on the pictures to enlarge them.

I painted this at Round Island Park in Vero Beach. Thats the ocean in the background and the very edge of Wilma. The painting and I got soaked and after I finished I made a dash to the car. I was under a pavilion and the rain was blowing horizontally right through. Those are the rain drops on the painting, they have dried off and the painting is fine.

1851 Jetty Morning

  Did this awhile ago at the Jetty park here in Fort Pierce.  The painting is 12 x 16 inches, oil on canvas panel. It will be at our art sho...
