Daily Painting 707 Red Hibiscus

Its 5 x 7 acrylic. I got some sample paints in the mail, Golden Open Acrylics. There were three little packets, so I opened them up and started painting. They stay workable a lot longer than regular acrylics which I had to dig out to finish the painting because the red wasn't the right red for the painting and there wasn't any yellow. It seems like they are nice paints, probably better for artists who use brushes more, the texture isn't as high as with my oil paints.

Daily Painting 704 Red Hibiscus Yupo Demonstation

I gave a demo at the Treasure Coast Art Association last night. The paintings behind me are from artist and teacher Joan Lyons, she gave part of the demo too. My painting above is from the demo, its watercolor on Yupo paper. Yupo paper is a fairly new product, its fun because you can get some interesting effects. Its 9 x 12 not for sale at this time.

Daily Painting 700!! Ibis Work In Progress

Well I couldn't quite get done with it today. I worked all day, I am wore out. I still have the last two birds to finish and all the bird's legs. Then lots of tweaking, mainly in the foreground grass. The top picture is the latest and the values and colors are off, my light was coming from the right so it bleached out that side of the picture and the left is too dark. Not for sale at this time. 18 x 24.

Daily Painting 698 Stormy Morning by the Ocean Plein Air

Its 8 x 10, oil. I went to Pepper Park and got rained out. My husband was holding the umbrella over me the last few minutes. I didn't have to worry about getting too hot or sunburnt. This is a similar view to yesterday's painting but that was from a photo and this one was from life.
