SOLD I did this around the same time as the last one I posted, within a week or so. Started it at the beach, there was the storm to the left, it looked like we were going to get rain for sure but it went right over us without a drop. Very nice breeze, perfect painting weather. It's 5 x 7 inches oil on masonite,

1806 SOLD White Water Lilies in the Savannas Plein Air Alla Prima
SOLD
I painted this today at the Savanna's Recreational area, it was so pretty out there today and it felt wonderful to get out of the house. Lots of birds, saw some moor hens, ducks, grackles, and wood peckers. Heard some others, chimney swifts at the office there and sand hill cranes. Heard a gator but didn't see him.
Very hot out but there was a nice breeze so it didn't feel bad at all, we all stayed in the shade. Plein Air alla prima, painted all in one go.It is mostly with the palette knife, a bit of brush in the details.
The painting is oil on masonite, 12 x 16 inches.

1805 Secret Pond in the Woods plein air alla prima
I painted this out at the little pond at George LeStrange preserve. Lots of fun painting with everyone, started out like it looks here and then at 11:30 the skies opened up, thunder and lightening. Luckily there is a little shelter so we stayed pretty dry. When it eased up we went back to the car, I was walking faster than I have in years! Was scared of the lightening.
8 x 10, oil on masonite.

1804 Hidden Brook Plein air at Veteran's Memorial Park
I painted this yesterday at Veteran's Memorial Park here in Fort Pierce. I got there about 9:30, I need to get up earlier, it was very hot. There was a nice breeze coming through and I was in the shade so I enjoyed myself. Saw some blue jays and lots of curly tailed lizards. I got mostly finished with the painting and tweaked it a little at home. It is 12 x 16, oil on masonite.
