1730 Sunny Impatiens, Plein Air Alla Prima

Painted this the other day at Heathcote Botanical Gardens, these impatiens were glowing in the sun. I had a lot of fun painting with my friend Betty. We had left our orange paint at home, I remembered I had pink opera paint and gave her some. It makes a super orange when mixed with yellow. With these flowers here I needed a cool red like alizarin crimson, I had left mine at home and she gave me some of hers.
The painting is 5 x 7 inches, oil on masonite.

1727 Seagrape Trees at the Jetty Park, Plein Air Alla Prima

I painted this yesterday at the Jetty Park in Fort Pierce. That is North Beach in the background and the inlet to the ocean. It was a bit chilly at first but warmed up nicely into a perfect day.

The painting is oil on masonite, 8 x 10 inches lots of thick textures. There is a bug in the sky at the top left, that will come out when the painting is dry.

1725 Wild Flower Vine Oil Painting

I have this one sitting around for awhile, finally finished it. It was one of those paintings that I wanted to let dry before I tweaked it and then got busy doing other things and the poor painting gets forgotten till I clean the house or something.

1724 Water Hyacinths at Indian Hills Recreation Area South, Plein Air Alla Prima

I did this Thursday with the Plein Air Painters of the Treasure Coast. It was hard to get started painting, there are lots of nice views there and I was having a lot of fun visiting. We are planning on going there again next Thursday. The clouds were beautiful, it was perfect out, not too hot or cold.

This is down south in Jensen Beach, I was at the Indian Riverside park again. This was a couple of weeks ago, Thanksgiving got in the way of posting! It was nice out, I thought for sure it was going to rain but we got lucky.
