Painted this today, fellow and his dog Clyde came up and he said he liked the painting but I needed to paint the dead tree across the lake. I said it would be a half inch tall. He said, "Yes but its where the eagles sit!" I thought I would give it a try and I think it went pretty well, used my knife. The whole painting was painted with a painting knife, no brush at all. Beautiful day, I got there at 9:30 and there were no clouds at all. Then all of a sudden all these little puffy clouds started showing up. When I finished painting the sky to the west was full of clouds, looked like rain.
The painting is 8 x 10 inches, oil on masonite,
Florida Plein Air oil paintings, stormy landscapes, hurricanes, travel.

1594 SOLD Satake Palm at Heathcote Botanical Gardens Plein Air Alla Prima
SOLD Painted this at Heathcote today in their palm garden. The Satake palm is the one closest to us in the painting. Its labeled so that is how I know what it is! It looks like a little Royal palm but has interesting colors on the trunk so that is why I wanted to paint it. That is the gift shop in the back and then they have some nice plants for sale between the shop and my palms.
Weather is perfect, nice breeze going through the gardens and its always shady in the palm garden. The painting is 8 x 10 inches, oil on masonite,
