It was a very windy day, lovely out. Its oil, 6 x 8 $150. Below is a detail so you can see the blue flowers and texture. I have forgotten their name but they like to grow by the water and are very pretty.

This is 6 x 8 inches, oil, plein air, alla prima. Its the ranger station in the Savanna's Recreational Area off of Midway Road. It was a gorgeous day, very windy with pretty clouds.

Daily Painting 806 Monstera and Begonias

Here are my paintings at the Treasure Coast Art Association. We had a fun time tonight at the Walk About Wednesday in downtown Fort Pierce.

Daily Painting 805 At the Beach

This was a demo oil painting I did at the Art Mundo "Discover the Artist Within" program. I had a good time with it, its a fun painting to do. I had painted a similar one that was only 4 x 6 inches awhile back and I worked from that one. This one is 8 x 10, oil, almost all painting knife.

Daily Painting 804 Palms at the Backus Museum

This looks a bit different than my usual style because I took a workshop this weekend that fellow artist George Love put on. She was teaching about glazing and so we just used brushes. We started out with a black and white acrylic painting and then when that dried we added the oil paints in colors. It was super to try a different technique. We were outside so I did the three palms I could see in the park next to the museum.

I had a very busy week, Art Mundo put on all these demos and workshops "Discover the Artist Within" friday and saturday. I took this workshop and one on bookbinding and another on botanical printing. Then I gave an oil painting demo saturday, I'll post that tomorrow. It was a whole lot of fun and I hope we get to do it all again.

Friday evening I went to the Gallery 14 reception in Vero, I have three paintings in their Small is Big showing this month. Thursday was my reception at the Molly House, that was lovely and I sold a couple of paintings.

Daily Painting 802 Rocky Shore on the Indian River

This is from a photo I took, its 5 x 7 inches, oil. I have mixed emotions about this spot, I spent lots of happy hours shrimping here. There is a breakwater you stand on to see this view and at night you can hang a lantern over it and stand with a net and fish out the shrimp as they swim by in the ebbing tide. Their eyes glow from the lamp's light.

One day when my son was around three a companion and I were wading in the water with a seine net and my son was in back of us. We were out for shrimp during the day. A lady who was fishing on the bridge in back of us started to scream and we looked around and my son wasn't there. We dropped the net and dove in back of us and saved my son, he was fine but it was very frightening.
