Daily Painting 442 and Studio Tour

The first photo shows my work area to the right, its mainly storage right now. There is a tackle box full of paints, finished little 4 x 6 paintings in a dvd storage case. A couple of unfinished paintings.

The next is across the room, its an old card table that I work on when I am not outside. Today's painting is on the table, its plein air but I tweaked it a bit tonight. There are a few other paintings and various tools and paints. To the right is my box that I take outside.

The last is today's painting, its 8 x 10, oil. I did it at McKee's Botanical Gardens in Vero Beach today.

SOLD The title refers to the lavender flowered plant, it starts out purple, turns lavender and then white so it has all three colors on one plant. Its very striking. The orange flowers are heliconias and the yellow flowers in the back are bellardias. I got myself into trouble, I found this interesting plant site while checking out my spelling and ordered a whole bunch of cool sounding seeds! Merry Christmas to me!

I ordered a heliconia mix, passionflowers, orchid tree seeds and some other stuff.

SOLD I was awfully tired all day, I had no idea what to paint, looked at my photos from my last trip to Heathcote Botanical Gardens. There were these yellow flowers with this mile-long name so I thought I would try them. The painting looked a little boring so I added the red flowers too and I thought the finish looked like ginger. Its all knife painted, oil, 5 x 7 $100.
