Sandflies at North Beach
Not the best day for a painting, I about got carried away by the sandflies, they didn't mind two different bug repellents! Its at the inlet to the ocean at North Beach Inlet State Park.
After finishing the painting, it began to rain as I walked to the car. Its 8 x 10, oil, all knife, click to make bigger if you look close you can see three sandflies stuck in the paint in the sky.

Painting during the edge of Hurricane Wilma
I painted this at Round Island Park in Vero Beach. Thats the ocean in the background and the very edge of Wilma. The painting and I got soaked and after I finished I made a dash to the car. I was under a pavilion and the rain was blowing horizontally right through. Those are the rain drops on the painting, they have dried off and the painting is fine.
