1689 Gifted, Red Truck across the Street Plein Air

This took two sessions to paint, started it last week and I was almost finished and it started to pour so I waited and finished today. Beautiful perfect day today, was at a friend's house with my group, the Plein Air Painters of the Treasure Coast.

Its 8 x 10 inches, oil on masonite,  I gave it away as a present to my friend Julie.  She used to live in the house.  If you would like a similar one, I would be happy to paint one for you, email me at lorartbus@aol.com.

I also have another one of the same house, it has a blue truck in front.  To see the Blue pick up truck click here

1688 Happy Red Hibiscus Painting plein air Alla Prima

I have been going through my paintings lately, they are in need of organizing. My husband is making me some nice wooden storage boxes and I have been taking the paintings out of their old cartons and putting them into the new boxes.  Some of the paintings were at shows and were framed, this was one of them.

This one never got put into my blog, it was made back in 2012 at one of the Souvenirs of Downtown paint outs.  I remember painting it, was on 2nd street in some nice people's side yard, they let us paint there.  The paint outs worked like this, you would paint a painting, frame it and bring it back to the  Backus House on 2nd street.  They would hang it and if there was time and you had energy you could go out and do another.  Then in the evening they would have a reception or two and people could purchase the paintings.  They always had great food and it was a lot of fun.  I don't know if they are doing it any more, I think there have been some changes made.

Its unframed now but shipping is free!

The painting is oil on masonite, 5 x 7 inches,

1687 Rising Tide, Old Fort Park, Plein air alla prima

This is down on the river bank by the Old Fort Park.  The sea grape is leafing out with its bright leaves, I love how the sun shines through them like stained glass.  Very windy and chilly, the painting was started and blew down on my palette right after I started so I had a line of dots on the bottom of the painting, it was fun to work with some un-planned colors.  Then on the photo below, I was about half finished and you can see the tide is washing over my easel's feet.  I somehow moved fast enough so I didn't get my feet wet.  The small dark dot in the water by the sand bank is a bug, I'll remove it when its dry.

I really didn't want to get out of my nice warm nest this morning but I was glad I did, it was beautiful out.

Its 8 x 10 inches, oil on masonite.

1685 Old Oak at Old Fort Park, Plein air

This old oak has been there as long as I can remember, I had a lot of fun painting it today.  I had planned to paint down by the river but it was very bright and sunny so I found a shady spot and painted there.  It rained last night and the resurrection ferns have all turned green on the oak tree branches, I love how they look.

The painting is 8 x 10, oil on masonite,
