1496 By the North Fork Boat Ramp Plein Air Alla Prima oil painting

I did this as the first painting of the Souvenirs of Downtown paintout, they let us paint where ever we wanted to.  I went here to White City park, its nice and shady and cool.  I have painted this scene before, its a place that is close to my heart, my dad and I would put our outboard motor boat in the water here and go boating in the St. Lucie river.  We would always see turtles and usually alligators as well. There is one I saw this trip, he was across the river from me, his nose is under the water.  I think this is a pretty big one.

The painting is 12 x 16 inches, oil on masonite.

Beautiful painting of a tropical paradise, Lori. Alligators have always scared me.
