Daily Painting 1435 Jungle Cruise Old boat oil painting

Sometimes I day dream about selling the house and buying a big boat and cruising where the mood takes me.  Goes right along with the daydream about getting a motor home.  I need a vacation, somewhere cool, it was 95 degrees today and humid.  This looks like a nice place to go.

Its 12 x 13.50 inches, oil on masonite.

This is a lot of work! It's beautiful Lori! You know, I got challenged by your daily painting, so I'm doing my art-a-day thing too. 'Except that I'm posting all my old artworks from 1998, LOL! I know, I know, that's cheating, but I was hoping doing that would push me into painting again before I run out of old daily artworks (should've been yesterday's art! LOL!).

As for the dream boat, hubby has the same dream. He loves the idea of living on a boat. But nope, not me! ;) Or maybe, if I get to go fishing! :)

I do hope you get a vacation! :D

Such a gorgeous painting, Lori! Your dreams match my own. We were over 100 degrees here in north central Illinois yesterday. In fact we've been there all week and we match you for humidity too. I so hate the summers. I should move to Alaska or Canada or back to Washington, I think. The weather is much more my speed.

Thanks Fatima! Good luck with your art-a-day! I post some old ones now and then too, sometimes ones that did not get seen too much or ones that needed tweaking.

I would want a nice boat, LOL! Of course you could go fishing, that would be a big part of it.

Thanks Sherry! I would like to live half the year someplace cool and half the year here, that would be perfect, LOL! I don't know if I could take winters up north, I like the heat better than the cold.

Daily Painting is a great idea. It is important, I think, that artists make a painting or drawing each day. Even just simple doodles or a quick photo or a carrot sculpture while cooking.

If I think of crochet, I think in these terms - I need to crochet at least once a day, even just a small piece or a few stitches.

Wouldn't it be great to be on a boat, do some fishing and cook and eat the fish on the boat? Well hopefully there won't be any hurricanes ...

I agree, with crocheting or painting, its good to do a bit every day. Or some sort of art. Yesterday I spun a bunch of alpaca fiber.

Most hurricanes give you plenty of warning, you could leave the area and go to a calmer place. I would not want to ride out a big storm in a boat!

About spinning, you know I've just reserved a top whorl spindle from a Ravelry friend here in the Philippines. She's selling a lot of her stuff. So when I get that spindle I might finally get to do some real spinning! :)))

So far I've only been looking at those fibres you sent! LOL!

Cool! I hope it works well for you! I had been wondering if you had started.
