Windy Palm Miniature Oil Painting

Cabbage palm blowing in the wind. This is one I did awhile back, I thought I would re-post it.  I am in a bit of a funk lately, don't feel much like painting.  ACEO size, oil on watercolor paper. 2.50 x 3.50 inches

Wow, I'm amazed at all the detail you get into such a small size. I don't know how you do it.

Thanks much Chriss, very tiny brush and tip of the palette knife.

Oh Lori...I hope you get out of your funk soon. I hate when I get in those. I love the way you've captured the wind in this little beauty.

Thanks Sherry, I hope so too!

Hi Lori! I hope you feel perkier soon. I feel odd meself. Just been to hospital where hubby had a huge boil on the thumb treated. Horrible thing, I had to sign a waiver too! :( Incision and drainage they call it, then they leave this piece of rubber tied to the wound so it's supposed to drain and not close too soon! Hubby was so brave, at the end of the procedure I felt sick! :( Sigh ... And then the antibiotics! :(

I'd like to see more of your new paintings soon. I'll try to get myself together too and do more crocheting! :)

Hi Fatima, ewww, boil on the thumb!? My sympathies to both of you. We always would tape a little package of salt to something like that, sucks the bad stuff out. But that is for normal boils, I don't know about a huge one. I hope his thumb is better soon!

When the boil wasn't so bad yet we tried putting turmeric on it - that was supposed to help, then also baking soda. And yes, soaking in salt was also supposed to help. But it got worse, and now there's another one looming on his shin! :( So this boil problem and more systemic than we thought so that needs looking at more closely.

Sorry about this, I just had to talk about this. I've been crunching my face so many times with "eewwwww!" :(

By the way, last night was thinking of miniature paintings and I knew someone who used the tip of a nail to paint. Not because it was miniature painting, it was a normal size painting. Using the nail was supposed to be "modern art," technique! ;)

Hi Fatima,
Is the boil he got lanced better now? I hope the new one gets better too, that is weird how they are popping up like that.

I have heard about the tip of a finger nail being used, the artist shapes the nail so it works like a little painting knife.
