Lil' Feet Program

Thirteen Art Mundo artists volunteered to transform retired St Lucie County Fire District fire boots into works of art, to be placed in Sea Coast banks

to collect money for Lil' Feet, a program run by the St. Lucie County Fire District to raise money to provide shoes for kids starting school.

The boots will be on display at Art Mundo until June 22.

An reception will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. June 13.

The exhibit will be located in Art Mundo's Underground North Wall Gallery at 111 Orange Avenue, in Fort Pierce.
"Lil' Feet" was Founded nearly 18 years ago, the program gives about 1,800 free pairs of shoes to students each year. Donations can be placed in the boots.
I painted one of the boots, mine is in oil.  It was a very nice surface to paint on!  Here are the two sides of my boot.

Alas, I cannot see the images. But what a wonderful idea!! Did you have to prepare the surface in someway so that the paint doesn't flake off? Thanks to the Port/Fort Lucie FD too!

Well darn, I'll put the photos in the regular way, I had sent out a group email and just copied and pasted it into the blog. No surface prep, paint sticks good to the rubber.
