I don't know what these are, they look a bit like allamandas, but they are smaller. I painted this from a photo I took awhile back at Heathcote Botanical Gardens. The painting is 5 x 7 inches, oil on plywood.

Daily Painting 1302 Stormy Weather
Its 5 x 7 inches, oil on plywood. Its been windy off and on all day today, we got the very edge of hurricane Irene, just enough to get our yard messy with palm fronds. We went to the beach and watched the kite boarders and big waves, it was a lot of fun.

Daily Painting 1300 SOLD Hidden Pond
SOLD I did this one today at the Treasure Coast Art Association's open studio. Its fun to paint there, lots of interesting conversations. This is a miniature oil, its 4 x 6 inches on plywood. I had made a background awhile ago on it, used up some nice colors that I had leftover on my palette. I hate throwing paint away! I finally saw some hints of the coconut palm and developed the painting from there.

Daily Painting 1297 SOLD Pelicans at the Fort Pierce Inlet
SOLD Finished this oil painting today 18.50 x 22 inches on masonite, I have been working and waiting for days on it. I let the different layers dry on big or complicated paintings so if I mess up I don't have to fix too much. I was glad I had, I was resting my little finger on the painting to steady my hand and got it into the wet wing. Then it got into the sky. I was able to clean it up without messing up my sky because I let it dry.It is from a park near where I live, its the Fort Pierce inlet to the ocean in the background. The inlet gets a strong current between the jetties. The rocks across the inlet in the back are just a row of big rocks and the ones in the front are paved so you can walk easy on them and go fishing. There is a fish cleaning station in front of the pelicans, they get scraps so there is lots of activity there. Free shipping.

Daily Painting 1296 Great American Egret by the Indian River
I just got into a discussion with my husband over the bird. I started to name the painting "White Bird by the Indian River." He asked what kind of bird is it and I told him its an American egret. He said I should name the painting with American egret instead of white bird.
Then he asked me if I am sure its the American egret and not the white heron. I told him I was pretty sure that is what it is, the heron has the long feathers on its head and yellow colored legs and lives South of us. Its getting really hard for me to name paintings for some reason. The painting is oil on plywood, 8 x 10 inches.
