Daily Painting 364 "Coastal flooding possible at high tide" Indian River Drive plein air alla prima expressionism

I painted this at 12:30, down on my neighbor's dock. The wind was so strong it was pushing my hand so I can't take all the credit. The title is from the weather report, this was done around high tide. The water is going into the reeds, usually there is a sand beach. Its 5 x 7, oil all painting knife, done from life or plein air, alla prima, or in one go. Click the picture to see all the juicy texture.

Daily Painting 359 SOLD Plein Air On the North Fork of the Saint Lucie River

SOLD Its oil, knife and brush. 8 x 10. Its plein air or from life, the first plein air of the season with the Plein Air Painters of the Treasure Coast. I had a nice turn-out, about 6 of us were there. This one gives me a lot of memories, its by the boat ramp of White City Park. My dad and I would put our boat in here and head one way or the other down the river. We would see lots of turtles, birds, and gators. It was a lot of fun.

Daily Painting 350 Sparkles Miniature Florida Art Oil Painting

I had fun with this one, I wanted to try textures that were more controlled, the background is almost all palette knife pointillism. Then I added the palm fronds and grass with some spiky strokes for some difference in the textures. I used some different colors than I usually do also. Click the picture to see it bigger than life, its only 4 x 6 inches.
