Sandflies at North Beach

Not the best day for a painting, I about got carried away by the sandflies, they didn't mind two different bug repellents! Its at the inlet to the ocean at North Beach Inlet State Park.
After finishing the painting, it began to rain as I walked to the car. Its 8 x 10, oil, all knife, click to make bigger if you look close you can see three sandflies stuck in the paint in the sky.

Lori, love your work. great textures and color. I love that you braved approaching hurricane to paint those palms. The energy of the moment is really captured in the final painting.
